Dubai NYE

Barr and I have been exceedingly fortunate to spend New Year’s Eve in some pretty cool places (Hong Kong, below, being one of the more memorable); however, Dubai is now the top contender!

Lai Kwai Fong for New Year’s Eve

We headed to a friend’s house for the festivities – their apartment overlooks the Palm (where the Dubai would attempt the world’s largest firework display – succeeding, duh), along with the Burj al Arab and Burj Khalifa in the background: all three major firework points would be visible!

More than 400,000 fireworks were set off along the trunk and fronds of the Palm Island and around the Word Island in Dubai – insanity! My IPhone pictures don’t do it justice so I’ll leave you with the below (and more profesh pics from the National here) as well as best wishes from us! Until next time..

I mean Dubai really knows how to throw a party

Happy 2014!
