Headlines of the Day
Today was supposed to be a big day: I was slated to complete the final steps of getting my residency visa. Reality? Long story short, I didn’t. Step 1 of 3 for the day managed to get done (blood test: check!….chest x-ray: check!), but it felt a bit like a morning wasted, but c’est la vie.
Although it was a long morning, I did manage to catch up on today’s local news! Over my coffee at the DIFC this morning (Starbucks holiday red cup…check!), I delighted in some of these humorous, perplexing and interesting UAE newspaper headlines. Enjoy, friends! Until next time…
Opposite sex roomies is not just frowned upon here – it’s illegal (Barr and I had to have our marriage certificate notarized by the State Department)
The cultural question of the day: “Why do some people receive lashings as punishment in some parts of the UAE?” Yikes!
Gearing up for the European Tour Championship here in Dubai this weekend!
This headline is regarding the illegal trade of endangered species – fair enough. This gator is named Larry. That is all.
Use of the “F” word is a crime. I’m in trouble, yall. 😉
